Privacy notice
Who is responsible
Javier Sivack, independent software engineer, 6 de Julio y Roosevelt, 20000 Maldonado, Uruguay. Contact: javier@sealionstudios.com.
What data I process and where it comes from
- Business contact details (name, role, company, business email) of people at agencies and software companies. I take them only from information the company publishes itself, such as its website.
- Messages you send me, by email or through the contact form on this site.
- Website usage data collected with PostHog analytics (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser), including when you arrive through a link in one of my emails.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To contact businesses about my backend and integration services, and to follow up a couple of times at most. Legal basis: legitimate interest in business-to-business communication (GDPR / UK GDPR art. 6(1)(f)), within the e-marketing rules of your country.
- To answer your messages and, if we work together, to manage the project. Basis: steps before a contract, and the contract itself.
- To understand how the site and demos are used. Basis: legitimate interest.
Your right to object
You can ask me to stop contacting you at any time, with no reason needed. Reply "no" to any email or write to javier@sealionstudios.com. I record the request on a do-not-contact list so it is respected permanently.
Who else handles the data
Service providers that act on my behalf:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| SiteGround | |
| Google (Gmail) | Copy of sent emails |
| Resend | Delivery of contact form messages |
| GitHub | Private storage of the contact list and outreach records |
| PostHog | Analytics |
| Vercel | Website hosting |
I don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
International transfers
I'm based in Uruguay, which the European Commission and the UK recognise as providing adequate data protection. Some providers process data in the United States under their standard contractual safeguards.
How long I keep it
- Outreach contact details: up to 24 months after the last contact, unless we're in an active conversation or working together.
- Do-not-contact list: kept indefinitely, limited to the email or domain, so the objection is respected.
- Project records: as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its use, by writing to javier@sealionstudios.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (for example the ICO in the UK, or the authority of your EU country) or to Uruguay's URCDP.
